The Oil: Pour Sesame (Til) oil, Mustard oil, or melted Ghee into the lamp, ensuring at least three-quarters of the wick is submerged.
The Soak: Let the wick sit for a few seconds to absorb the oil, then ensure the protruding tip is also slightly moistened.

1. What is the difference between Agarbatti and Dhoop?
Agarbatti uses a bamboo core or “stick” as a base, making them thin and long-burning. Dhoop (available as cones or thick logs) is bamboo-less and made entirely of aromatic paste. Dhoop usually provides a more concentrated, intense fragrance and is considered very “Shuddh” (pure) for specific Vedic rituals.
